- n = 5 years
Using the formula:
PV = 10,000 / (1 + 0.07)^5
PV = 10,000 / (1.07)^5
PV = 10,000 / 1.40255
PV ≈ $7,129.86
This means that $10,000 received in 5 years, with a 7% annual discount rate, is equivalent to having approximately $7,129.86 today.
