An Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) is a categorical description of the type of company that derives the most value from your product or service and, in return, provides the most value to your business. Unlike a "Buyer Persona," which focuses on the individual, an ICP focuses on the organization as a whole.

Imagine a SaaS company selling cybersecurity software. Their ICP is a FinTech company with 500+ employees using AWS.

The Importance of the LTV/CAC Ratio
The calculator also measures your LTV to CAC ratio. In a healthy B2B SaaS environment, a ratio of 3:1 or higher is considered excellent. If your ICP match is high but your ratio is below 1:1, you may need to reconsider your pricing strategy or acquisition channels even if the customer profile is "ideal."
