MapleStory Accuracy Calculator
How MapleStory Accuracy Works
In classic MapleStory (Pre-Big Bang versions like v62, MapleLegends, or DreamMS), Accuracy is a vital stat for physical attackers like Warriors, Thieves, and Bowmen. If your accuracy is too low relative to a monster's level and avoidability, you will see the dreaded "MISS" animation, significantly lowering your damage per minute (DPM).
The Accuracy Formula
The standard formula used by this calculator to determine the required accuracy for a 100% hit rate is:
- If Character Level ≥ Monster Level:
Required Accuracy = 1.2 × Monster Avoidability - If Character Level < Monster Level:
Required Accuracy = [1.2 × Monster Avoidability] × [1 + 0.05 × (Monster Level – Character Level)]
Key Stats Explained
DEX: For most classes, 1 point of DEX provides 0.8 Accuracy. Warriors often struggle with this and must rely on "Accuracy Gear" (like scrolled Brown Work Gloves or Sniper Pills) to hit higher-level mobs without dumping too many points into DEX.
LUK: For Thieves, LUK also provides a small amount of Accuracy (0.5 per point), making them naturally more accurate than Warriors.
Example Calculation
Imagine you are a Level 50 Warrior trying to hit Jr. Newties (Level 105, 37 Avoid).
Because the level gap is 55 levels, the level penalty multiplier is heavily applied. You would need over 350 Accuracy to hit them consistently, which is why "leeching" or "accuracy sets" are so popular in the classic Maple community.
